Pre-consultation Checklist

Taking the following steps will ensure you get the most out of your consultation:

  • Bring with you a copy of any recent blood tests (in the past 6 months) unless you have already let me have them.

  • Wash and condition your hair as usual the day before your appointment - not on the day.

  • Avoid using styling products or camouflage treatments after washing so I can see and feel your natural hair.

  • If you wear a hat, scarf or other head covering, wig, hair system etc please be prepared to remove it at the consultation.

  • If you colour your hair, it is ideal but not essential to have coloured it within 2 weeks of your consultation. Please wash it at least twice after colouring.

  • Complete and return the pre-consultation questionnaire at least 48 hours before your consultation. If this is not possible, bring with you:

    • a list of any prescribed medication or supplements you are currently taking

    • a list of any medication, supplements, treatments or remedies you have used in the last 12 months, even if they were not specifically for your hair

    • Think about the circumstances surrounding the issue you’re concerned about and jot down the timings. For example, when did you first notice the problem? What significant events happened in the previous 6 months – things like: did you have an illness, accident, were you admitted to hospital or changed your medication? Did you have a baby, move house, have a relationship breakdown, lose your job or suffer a bereavement? Has the appearance of your hair/scalp, its condition or other symptoms changed over time?

The more information you are able to give me, the better able I am to piece together the clues to establish what the problem is and what’s causing it.

Please arrive on time for your consultation as it is unlikely I will be able to extend the appointment if we start late.
